Makri Island (meaning long), is a small long rocky island off the west coast of Rhodes. Uninhabited and unspoiled, the surrounding area of Makri and the neighbouring Strongyli Island is a Natura 2000 protected area including Alimia and all the small islands between Rhodes and Chalki island.
The protected status have secured the development of a unique underwater habitat, full of exquisite specimens of the beautiful fauna and flora of the Aegean Sea.
Its rocky formations are ideal for experienced divers.
